One of the very first modules we install for Drupal projects is the Admin Menu module because it makes life much easier!
However, the Admin Menu module is not without its faults. One common complaint is that the menu bar disappears (https://drupal.org/node/1622904)! The only way to bring it back is to clear the cache.
The solution I have personally found to work is to disable "Cache menu in client-side browser". To do this, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the module's configuration page (/admin/config/administration/admin_menu)
- Open the Performance tab near the bottom
- Uncheck the "Cache menu in client-side browser" box
While there is a small performance penalty, it beats clearing the cache repeatedly! We also recommend enabling the Administration menu Toolbar style and disabling the core "Toolbar" module.
If you are not a Drush user, then I highly recommend using the Admin Menu module (https://drupal.org/project/admin_menu). It will cut down the time spent navigating the default Drupal admin menu bar by half, if not more!
